During these lockdown days of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us are feeling anxious about catching the virus; many are worried about vulnerable family and friends for whom it could be life-threatening; many people aren’t able to shelter from the storm because the rest of us depend on their work. And of course, all of the normal difficult things of life continue to affect us all: illness, loneliness, grief, depression and more.
In times like these we are reminded to:
Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken.
Psalm 55:22 NIVUK (2011)
I (Ross) am writing here simply to remind you that we have a loving God who cares for us, and a loving community who will embrace you in your need. Several of us meet every Tuesday evening to catch up and then to pray; a WhatsApp group mobilises a dozen people who will pray for your situation.
Please send your prayer request to me using the contact details on the home page, and our groups will pray for you. Let me know if you’d prefer to remain anonymous or to share your name and situation.
And if you would like to learn to pray yourself, we thoroughly recommend the Lectio 365 app from 24-7prayer as a place to start.
